NFL Blitz 2003 is very similar to the previous blitz's from the N64 versions. There's nothing much new about this NFL Blitz other than touched up graphics, improved commentary, and controls. For those who don't know what Blitz game is...Let me explain. NFL Blitz series is 'broken football'. It is the same concept and gameplay as football, but with one given exception: No Rules! That's right! You can bash your players after a play is over, or during a touch down and such. There is also no passing interference (which I have a bad habit on doing) in this game as well.

Blitz changes two main concepts in terms of the football game itself. The timer (5 mins per game but it does drag out) and yards per first down. Unlike real football games, you must get 30 yards to get a first down. NFL Blitz 2003 has been greatly touched up in graphics, sound, and control. They exceed extremely well in all three areas. Making this football game one hell of a blast.

Those who like REAL football and not arcade like games may not like the blitz series. In terms of doing plays, Blitz mostly only has passing type of plays. There are little to none running based plays for the offensive side. There are tons of plays to execute and just not as many passing plays. You can still run the ball but there isn't a play or strategic way of doing it. Speaking of lack of plays, the defensive side still does not have many plays to choose from. If I remember correctly, NFL Blitz 2002 for the N64 had the same number of defensive plays to choose from. Also in addition, you cannot make a playbook in this new Blitz. This feature was in the N64 version, and it was well done. (Man did I have some strange plays). Why this was taken out is beyond me. It certainly hurts the game a lot.
Bring a friend or two over and you still have one great multiplayer game to play. Like football but with the rules a little 'broken'? Give NFL Blitz 2003 a try. It's most certainly worth a $20 budget title!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Graphics: 1.000/1.000: (Very touched well and arcade style graphics)

Sound: 1.000/1.000: (Once again it is well done. The commentary can get a little repetitive but still enjoyable).

Storyline: 1.000/1.000: (No real storyline so an automatic 1 :()

Control: .800/1.000: (Awesome control with little or no stiffness)

Gameplay: 0.300/1.000: Here is where the game hurts. The lack of plays let alone any running plays makes the game less varaity. The lack of creativity (such as your own plays) is also missing.)

Totals: 4.100/5.000
