CONSOLE SYSTEM: PLAYSTATION1
COMPANY: ENIX
STATUS: FINISHED!
APPROX TIME: 90+ HOURS (I'M NOT KIDDING!)
For every die hard RPG gamer, there will always be die hard RPG games. Dragon Warrior 7 (DW7) is no execption to this rule. Enix stills gots in them! In the old NES era, DW1-4 were excellent games that took over 60 game time hours to finish. Honestly, RPGS take me no more 40 hours to finish. DW7 is a VERY long RPG due to the monsters are difficult, and it takes long to power up. If EXP was shared, it would take even longer. Dragon Warrior 7 offers strong game play in the rpg genre. No die hard RPG fanatic should be without it. Now if Squaresoft could such an effort (because they excel in graphics/storyline) we could have one ultimate RPG. They've merged to SquareEnix now, lets hope they can prove it to us.

DW7 is strong in every aspect. It's hard to score this game, because this RPG is not for everyone. One thing this RPG lacks is resistance abilities/items to simple spells that will littlerly (from just one cast) fuck your party up. Most commonly, sleep/confusion. While there is a cure to sleep (wakesong) you have to hope the character that has this ability isn't already effected by that spell or something else. There is no cure for confusion/resistance to it. The final boss and many other bosses favor sleep spells. I've had my whole party of lv 40's wipe out instantly due to that spell. Party members won't wake up so easily, so its easy to say it is almost pointless what level you are.

DW7 just like DW3/4 offers classes were you can learn new skills and abilities. Learning these skills take time and it is almost as long as leveling up. Speaking of leveling up,I finished the game at level 41, if that tells you anything. There's also two extra dungeons in the game to unlock. I'm putting it down til Christmas arrives and try them out. This is a good RPG worth $40 bones to the right person. Like a hard-ass RPG? Then DW7 might be your alley.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GRAPHICS 0.500 (Very standard graphics, they could have beefed it up more. Looks more like SNES quality.)

SOUND 0.700 (Not too shabby...I'm thinking on getting the soundtrack. Oh you do hear those old "eeek" "errrk" attack noises again)

STORYLINE 0.800 (Confusing at first, as your just an explorer and very curious. Then when the world begins to get restored the story starts to make sense.)

CONTROL 1.000 (Controls..menuing system...everything makes sense).

GAMEPLAY 0.600 (I give this a 60 just because it got so damn looooong. I ended up getting a walkthrough after I passed the 70 hour mark. Still a good game.)
