Devil May Cry 2 (DMC2) is the second part in the HARDCORE action game series Devil May Cry. In DMC2, your that ever so cool hardcore gun shooting, sword slashing Dante. The half man/devil demon hunter. DMC2 is the first PS2 game I've seen that's two disc's big. DMC2 offers a whole new character...Lucia who has her own set of adventure. DMC2 fixed one big issue DMC had, and that was the dreaded camera angles. How that shit killed me so many times. DMC2 fixed that.
Ok....I just said all good stuff...here's the sad story...

Fans of the original (including myself) will be VERY DISAPPOINTED with Devil May Cry 2. The game itself in so many ways doesn't even match up to its original. We waited a whole year nearly for a part 2, and Capcom just goes and fucks it all to hell. My first gripe of the game itself it still had its hardcore action, but enemies were such pussies it wasn't even funny. This includes the boss battles.

Lucia's adventure (she fights very similar to Dante) is even shorter than Dante's adventure. The game offers HARD and MUST DIE difficulties, but unlike in DMC these modes prove be an almost waste of time. HARD is like NORMAL (from DMC). I just put the game down after I beaten HARD on both Dante/Lucia. Those who expected Dante's ever cool personality, will not see it here. He's quiet as the dead.
Graphics and sound aren't as good and detailed and won't scare you at night like it did in DMC. Control is about just as good its responsive as anything else that would prolly be the only other upside of this game. If Capcom comes out with a DMC3, I hope they make it like the original. It's a sad thing to see such a good game get a bad tasting sequel. It is like seeing Back to the Future 2 with no Martie or Doc. My final thoughts of this game when I finished it..."What the fuck happened while this game was in production......?" In short...was this worth laying a $50 dollar bomb? Two words: HELL NO. ONLY give this game try if you see for $19.95 or less. It is prolly worth the price.

GRAPHICS: 0.200: (More open space, but not eerie/detailed like in DMC1 that remind me of Castlevania)

SOUND: 0.150: (Hearing Dante/Lucia screams is a bit repeative and the music really doesn't match the game.)

STORYLINE: 0.200: (Storyline makes sense....but it's just not the same Dante interacting with it. There's so many cheesy cut scenes...its sad.)

CONTROL 0.250 (The ONLY good thing I think of the game, very responsive. A bit strict and hurts my hands just a tad bit too quickly unlike the original. However, it wasn't very fluid or smooth.)

GAMEPLAY: 0.150: (Everything that is missing from DMC2 WAS in DMC1. It's sad thing....)
