Dark Cloud was a most interesting game. For the most part, it can be an additive game. Finding stuff for your sword to upgrade, tough battles (and boss battles) and a good storyline. Dark Cloud's game play is generally a dungeon generated system. Every time you enter a dungeon, its lay out is very different. So just like in Lufia 3, its a new level every time. However, unlike Lufia 3, this is the main guts of the game. So gameplay, after awhile, will get very repetitive. Still Dark Cloud offers a number of challenges and features.

Throughout the game you'll gain new allies, which you can become at anytime. When you encounter a new character, you'll have to use a certain ability they only hold to continue through a dungeon. The game's story is about a Dark Genie who destroyed your village. Your objective is to get revenge. The storyline and concept is pretty basic. The game also has a thirst system. If your character gets to thirsty, they'll start to lose health. You can recover this by exiting the dungeon, using waterskins, or finding a water fountain/spring in the dungeon.

Dark Cloud also has a limit to your weapons. If you use your weapons too much, they will break! Dark Cloud's weapons are your primary concern, the more you use them, and items you upgrade with, the stronger they become. If a weapon breaks, you lose it for life, so take care when your weapon gets low on power. Weapons can be repaired easy by using a repair weapon powder. Graphically, the game is clear and nice. Sound wise, the game plays a great amount of soundtracks and is very well done. Control was pretty good too and I had no complaints. Boss battles also offer a good challenge. If you don't mind repetitive gameplay and looking for a good action/rpg. Check out Dark Cloud.
